FAIRGROUNDS 

A BIG hello from the Fergus County Fairgrounds, and we welcome you to our community.  Did you know that The Fergus County Fairgrounds is more than just a “grounds for the fair”?  We have many events and other activities going on at the fairgrounds year-round.  Here in Lewistown, we are proud to offer one of the finest fairground facilities in the State of Montana.  If you are visiting Lewistown, please stop by and visit anytime.

Some of the nice features for visitors coming to the fairground’s, is that we offer a little something for everyone.  Fairgrounds are not just for your WESTERN COWBOY, FARMER and RANCHER anymore, we offer something for EVERYONE to enjoy.

Some of our services include; stall facilities for horses and livestock, camping spots with facilities, wedding facilities, outdoor picnic and gazebo areas, outdoor and indoor arenas for horse and livestock use, event rental facilities, a covered grandstand with arena for that extra event you may want to put on, a restored Agriculture building if you want to put on an event for vendor displays, and MUCH more.

Now we can’t forget the fairs we offer here.  During January we have the Montana Winter Fair.  It is filled with a lot of fun events.  We have a wonderful fiddler’s contest where some of the best fiddle players from around the State of Montana and other areas come to fiddle off their talents.  There is the DEATH BY CHOCOLATE event for every chocolate lover’s secret cravings; the exhibits are fabulous with homemade quilts, photography, and many vendors who display wonderful products and services for you to choose from.  The Montana Winter Fair has farm forums, and many other events to see.  So if you are in town for this event, don’t forget to stop by for the fun, feast and festivities.

The Central Montana Summer Fair is held right here in Lewistown.  Our fair is one of the FUNNEST, FINEST and FAIREST FAIRS of all.  Our fair opens with night entertainment from famous entertainers and groups of all musical backgrounds.  This year in 2006, we start off our fair with the NITTY GRITTY DIRT BAND on their 40th anniversary tour, so come on over and “GO FISHIN IN THE DARK” at this years summer fair and have a great time.  We offer a huge carnival for the whole family, filled with fun and laughter for everyone.  The smiles never stop here during the end of July.  The fair offers AMX car racing, the Northern Rodeo Association rodeo events, 4H livestock and judging displays, food vendors of every kind, and entertainment for everyone.  There is LOTS to do here at the end of July during our fair.  The dates this year are July 26th thru July 30th.

During the year, we have events such as auctions of all kinds, weddings, vendor trade shows, horse shows, bull sales, shrine circus, craft sales, tool sales, gun shows, banquets for many organizations, beef expos, cowboy church, high school and other rodeo events, and during winter holiday seasons the Festival of Trees where pine trees of all sorts are decorated and can be viewed right here in the Trade Center.

PAVILION

The Fergus County Fairgrounds Pavilion offers year round usage.  Many of the events held in this large indoor arena are fun for everyone. There is open riding for everyone who wants to use the arena (small fee applies).  We hold horse shows, bulls sales and many other events throughout the year.  Fergus County is proud to have such a facility for people to use.  If you are merely pulling through for the evening and need to let your horse out of the trailer to run, stretch and roll, this is the perfect spot.  Here at the fairgrounds we take reservations to reserve the building for your special event. 

AGRICULTURE BUILDING

This historic building was restored because of service minded individuals and giving people such as Emma Light.  This building was saved from tear down because of her generosity to save such an old facility that gives so much emphasis to these fairgrounds.  The Ag building is used for events such as smaller trade shows, weddings, family reunions, meetings, and many other uses.  Stop by and see it today.

TRADE CENTER

The Trade Center is the largest building for indoor events.  It has been newly updated and painted.  During the year, the Trade Center is the most widely and highly used facility on the grounds.  Year round there are many events taking place.  We hold weddings, conventions, auctions, parties, large public events, reunions, memorial services, craft shows, forums and many other activities.  This building has a use for everyone’s needs.  The Trade Center can be used for well up to 800 people per event.  The main office for the fairgrounds is located in the Trade Center Building as well.  For bookings and reservations of the Trade Center, simply call the office or stop by for openings.

CAMPING FACILITIES

The fairgrounds offer several camping areas.  There are 54 electric hook-up spots available.  You may also tent camp on our facility grounds.  We have a sewer dump spot on site and shower facilities for your use.  You will find our fairgrounds a great place to stay whether you bring your RV, Truck Camper or just an old fashion tent and sleeping bag.  We would love to see you here.  So when you visit Lewistown, Montana just pick your spot and relax.

STALLING

The Fergus County Fairgrounds offers overnight stalling for your horses.  When you have been traveling on the road for long days hauling your horses or livestock, you just need a place to put them where they will be safe for the night.  Well, our gates are always open.  We offer plenty of stalls for your nightly needs.  Please pull in and you will find our facilities very pleasing and useful for your animals and your personal needs.  You are always welcome here.

COOLEY ARENA

We have a beautiful outside arena for those big blue sky days here in Montana.  If you would like to book an event or just practice on your horse, please take a look at what we have to offer.  It is a nice size arena located just east of the main Grandstand area and arena.

PICNIC AREAS

The fairgrounds offer plenty of spots for you, family, and friends to picnic.  Bring a blanket to sit on, or call the office about use of the Gazebo and picnic area.  It is nestled in some trees and makes for a beautiful day for a picnic and gathering.
